Afikomen

shalom here from Germany… it is a wonderful blessing which means wholeness… nothing missing – nothing broken, may the Holy one of Israel grant us true peace and shalom while we are blessing Israel and praying for the Jews worldwide…

in Genesis we read in chapter 12 verse 3

I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse
and all peoples on earth
    will be blessed through you…

here a good advice and prayer request from David Silver/Haifa during Passover

One of the main elements of the Passover celebration is the Yachas or Unity in English. This is the 3 sheets of unleavened bread (Matzah) that is in the middle of the table setting. The flat Matzah bread is striped, bruised and pierced, a perfect picture of what happened to Yeshua on the day of the crucifixtion. During the Passover ceremony the middle sheet is taken out, broken in half, wrapped in a white cloth and hidden away (for the children to find and win a prize). This piece of Matzah is called the Afikomen and the rabbis teach that the Afikomen represents the Messiah. A few years ago I learnt that Afikomen is a Greek word, the only Greek word in a Hebrew ceremony, means

I have come.

For 2000 years the Jewish people have been unknowingly declaring that the Messiah has already come. It is time for their eyes to be opened ……….

Suggested Passover prayer points – when Yeshua was on the road to Emmaus with the disciples they did not recognise Him until He prayed and broke the bread ……

* Pray that as the Afikomen is broken during the Passover ceremony, the LORD will open the eyes of multitudes of Jewish people to recognise that Yeshua is the Messiah

*  Pray that many will have a powerful revelation of the power of the blood to save and cleanse of sin

May you be blessed while you seeking truth… Sabine

Why Israel ? Part 2

God’s Covenants with Israel

* God has a unique relationship with Israel
* This relationship was affirmed through covenants
* All covenants were made with Israel see Psalm 105:7-11 and Romans 9:4

Now when Abram was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “I am the God Almighty. Walk before me and be blameless! And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. Genesis 17:1-2

1.) Abraham covenant – partners were Abraham + son Isaac and grandson Jacob – period forever see Jer. 31:31-37 – who is in? Descendants in this line if circumcised in the flesh. “Gentiles” become children see Galatians 3

2.) Mosaic covenant – partners were Moses and 12 tribes of Israel – time period was limited until Messiah comes – who is in? who keeps the commandments see Deut. 7:12

3.) Davidic Covenant – partners were David, King of Israel – period Eternal see 2 Sam. 7:12-13 + 16 – who is in? Kingdom of God visible on earth – with Jesus as King see Matth. 22:42

4.) New Covenant (Messianic) – partners announced OT by Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, consummated in NT by JESUS in death, resurrection and ascension – period forever; eternal life, New Heaven, New Earth – who is in? Israel “grafted in Gentiles” see Romans 11 – righteousness by faith Romans 4

Why Israel?

God loves Israel

God loves Israel and wants to pass on His blessings to all nations through this nation (Genesis 12:3) I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

* in God’s plan Israel has a special place: God chose Israel in his love and gave him a special position to be his own people.

* God also describes His relationship to this nation this way: Israel is God’s son (Hos. 11:1) – Israel is the apple of God’s eye (Zech. 2:12) – Israel is God’s bride, His wife (Isa. 54:5) In the same way that a man promises his love and devotion to a woman through the covenant of marriage, God connects Himself to Israel, His wife, through the covenant He has made with her. (Ezek. 16:8)

God’s love is an eternal love

* God always stands by His covenant (marriage) promises (Ps. 105:7-15)

* He remembers his covenant forever. We know from biblical history that Israel was always unfaithful to God (Ezek. 16:15 + 35-38)

* But God’s love for His bride is greater than His disappointment in her (Isa. 62:4).

God’s love is an unchanging love

*Israel is God’s creation – a chosen covenant people whose beginnings lead back to God’s promises to Abraham and Sarah and the miraculous birth of their son Isaac.

*The children of the promise are the tribes of Israel. This eternal covenant with them is unchanged and therefore still has its validity (Rom. 9.4-5 + 26)

*Abraham also had a son by Sarah’s maid Hagar: Ishmael.

*God promised that he would bless Ishmael’s descendants (the Arabs), which he did. (Genesis 16:10-12). But God’s covenant promises are to the descendants of Isaac (Genesis 26:1-6).

*In God’s covenant relationship with Abraham, He also gave at the same time a promise as well as a serious warning concerning Abraham’s descendants.

*We should remember that Israel, even today, remains the apple of God’s eye.

*From our behavior toward Israel, God’s behavior toward us necessarily follows.

Genesis 12:3

I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee: and in thee shall all kindred’s of the earth be blessed.

Aliyah …. come home…

Jeremiah 3:14   I will take you one from a city and two from a family and I will bring you to Zion”
Isaiah 35:10    And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads, they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Over the last few days, the Lord reminded me of one of our ministry trips to Canada a number of years ago, where we visited the Jewish community centre in Quebec, Montreal. As I entered the main entrance of the building I was quite taken back with how beautifully presented this centre was and all it had to offer. We had a bit of a local tour around and it appeared that there was everything there to occupy, satisfy and bring a sense of fulfillment and entertainment for each Jewish person residing in that area, at the same time able to still feel very Jewish in a very Jewish environment in a foreign nation. I kept saying to myself, this is so nice ! I was very impressed !. Then out of no where, came the still small voice, saying “they do not belong here” and my heart sank, as I promptly agreed and realized what was happening.

These Jewish community centres, which I believe are no doubt all over the world, are a trap for Jewish people still living in the diaspora. The community gives them a place to feel safe and I believe this is a false sense of security. And the simple fact is that they do not belong there, they belong in Israel. Just alone in this small community of this one small part of big big Canada, lives 90,000 Jewish people. There are literally thousands and thousands and thousands of Jewish people still living all over Canada. Another trap is the “good life” as it is in America, the materialism and the money but I believe the biggest lie and trap that most Jewish people believe still in the nations, is that they are safe where they are.

It is crucial for all Jewish people to be making their way home now, before things intensify even more than what it has since the Covid pandemic in March – before the “suddenlies”

We are entering into the Fall Feast Days (Moedim). A time of returning. A time of repentance (Day of Atonement/Yom Kippur) and a time of awakening (Feast of Trumpets/Shofarot – Yom HaTruah)

Let’ get our shofars out and our whistles and start prophetically calling them back  Zechariah 10:8  I will whistle for them and gather them

Isaiah 52:1 “Awake Awake O Jerusalem and shake off your dust, rise up.”

  • Pray particularly for Canadian and American Jewry (6,000,00 Jews alone in the USA) to be awakened to the times in which we are in
  • Pray for a disturbance within them, to be persistent and unsettling with a  restlesness and to have  witness to now is the time to return to Israel.
  • Pray that God would raise up “voicepieces” in these Jewish communities that will indeed proclaim Aliyah.
  • Pray God will also put it in the hearts of the Jewish Agencies who work with Aliyah to send their emissaries to visit and set up booths near these community centres to encourage Aliyah
  • Pray that many more intercessors will be raised up in Canada and America to pray for  Aliyah

One of the greatest miracles of all time is taking place right now, but many Christians do not know anything about it. God is bringing the Jewish people back to Israel from all over the world. It is important for us as believers to understand God’s purposes not only for the Jewish people but also the times in which we live, the days preceding the return of our Messiah. May each of us continue to gain understanding of God’s heart for the Jewish people and a desire to seek Him about what He wants each of us to do to assist in the return of His people to the land of their forefathers.

Aliyah precedes the salvation of the Jewish people (Ezekiel 11:17-19) Mass revival of the Jewish people will take place here in the land of Israel when they have returned. The rebuilding of Zion is one of the great biblical signs that the time is at hand for the Lord to appear in His glory.
Psalm 102 “Our Lord is doing this for one purpose, to bring glory to His name in the sight of all nations, The Lord will rebuild Zion and appear in His glory.”

  • Pray many more Christians will arise to the occasion to assist in Aliyah
  • Pray for millions of Jews to return before they are chased out of their nations
  • Pray all the stones of stumbling that impede and prevent Jewish people returning to be removed (Isaiah 62:10)
  • Pray for the many Jews who need assistance to return, that this will come to them
  • Pray for the organisations and emissaries in the nations to be successful and fruitful in the campaigns to encourage Jewish people to return to their land
  • Pray this year will exceed any other previous annual statistics of Jews returning home
  • Pray that the Jewish people in the nations will understand and see the danger of lingering on with their life style in these nations
  • Pray for another exodus that will exceed all others of the past
  • Pray there will be a “perculating” of desire to return, in the hearts of Jewish people in all nations.
  • Pray that the breath of God will be breathed upon His people in the nations to become cognizant of their inheritance and to have a longing for their homeland
  • Pray for a continued flow of young Jewish adults to make Aliyah – this invariably stirs other members of the family to make Aliyah. (40% of Aliyah is young Jewish adults)
  • Pray for the 500,000 Israelis living outside of Israel, to return He wants His people home!

I want to recommend a movie on Netflix called Septembers of Shiraz . This movie is a picture of the reality of what happened in Iran following the revolution in 1975 and it is also a reality of what can happen to the Jewish people who are still living in the nations today.  The one liner in the script that threw me into intercession was “we should have left when you left” .   May none be left in the nations to perish but come home and have eternal life.

Let each of us pray for divine appointments with Jewish people, and  become a modern day “Jabotinsky” and warn every Jewish person we come in touch with that resides outside of Israel that now is the time to return to their homeland

here a short summary – travel report about our
Israel trip from 07th until the 14th of October

first the process … then the mental impressions etc.

As in 2016, our group consisted of my husband Bernd, Diana, Reto and Matthias from Winterthur, Switzerland and me. Bernd, Diana and I flew with Ryanair from Badenairpark near Karlsruhe directly to Tel Aviv, Ben Gurion Airport. The flight was cheap and the service good. However, we have missed us again to print the boarding passes. This is required at this airline otherwise it costs extra. For all those who intend to fly with Ryanair in the future, this tip. Basically we enjoyed the  flight and service on board  and can recommend this airline.

Our accommodation was as usual the Hotel Gilgal in Tel Aviv, close to the beach and under the guidance of Messianic Jews. A good hotel of the middle class, peaceful atmosphere, good breakfast, nice roof terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and skyline. We met as a group there every night and prayed a lot and made good contacts. Paul and his two daughters Lisa and Anna are very dear to us. We are looking forward to meeting them soon in Germany. The first day was rest and filled with a 2 hour walk to Jaffa along the beautiful beach. In the evening we went to a good restaurant on the beach. However, you have to expect about 25 euros per person. Basically, restaurants in Israel are located in this price range. Of course it is cheaper with Falafel snacks  and supermarket. What we have decided for the rest of the travel time.

on 09.10. went up to Jerusalem. We were in a very important place, especially for us from Germany … the Holocaust Memorial Museum Yad Vashem.

For all sensitive souls, it’s deep. Personally, I was literally speechless, I could barely speak and cried again and again. But it was good and important. You should have experienced that at least once.  After about 5 hours back at the exit we drove back to Tel Aviv and  arrived well in the hotel. One of the many blessings that we were able to experience on the trip, we got every evening a parking lot in front of the hotel. A miracle for Tel Aviv traffic conditions. My husband Bernd, drove us about 1600 km, so thank you very much.

10.10. We drove to Jerusalem again (about 1.5 hours) the road traffic is a bit crazy, both in Tel Aviv and in Jerusalem, for insecure drivers not recommended. I can recommend train and buses or in Jerusalem also tram or taxi. A good location to park in the center is the Mamilla Mall. There, the holy places are easy to reach on foot. We were first at the Kotel, Wailing Wall then had a nice cappuccino  in the Austrian hospice , there is Austrian cuisine, such as Wiener schnitzel and cakes. A beautiful garden with tables invites you to relax. Then we went through the Via Dolorosa to the pond Bethesda where Jesus healed the 38-year-old man who was paralyzed. This site has opening hours, so be smart and get information in advance. Because we had to wait another 30 minutes we walked to Lionsgate – and just around the corner on the right is the golden gate. Opposite you can see the Kidrontal and the Mount of Olives. A beautiful view. In the Bethesda area  we prayed a lot for sick people we know.. Diana and I were at the bottom of a portico, just above our head was a stone archway. As we stood there and prayed softly, two pigeons came flying, which settled just above our heads. For a few minutes, the pigeons looked at us motionless from above and we watched them from below. It was something out of the ordinary, because afterwards we did not see any more in the whole area. Wow … that touched our heart very much and we felt God’s presence and love very deep for us.

10.11. got up early and leave for the tabernacle in Timnapark shortly before Eilat in the south of Israel. We chose the route to Mitzpe Ramon and visited the crater there. It’s worth the trip, a beautiful scenic experience. There is also a restaurant and observation deck. After 6 hours drive we arrived a bit tired at the tabernacle. Every hour there is a 30-minute guided tour in English. The whole tabernacle is a symbol of Jesus Christ. Every detail has a special meaning. It is worthwhile to do an intensive Bible study about it. Due to the long journey we booked an overnight stay in Eilat. It was an apartment house with several separate suites. First class amenities with pool, kitchen, barbecue area etc. We sat in the evening for a long time together and enjoyed the rest in comfortable garden furniture.

10.12. On to the Dolphin Reef in Eilat, the only area in the world where dolphins are allowed to swim both in the bay and outdoors. We have seen about 6 different dolphins very close to the jetties, they jumped, as one always admired on television. Unfortunately, we did not have that much time otherwise you can book a snorkel or dive time to swim with these beautiful animals.  It  costs about 80 Euros extra. Back to Tel Aviv over the Dead Sea. In Ein Bokek there is the possibility to go into the water for free and to let oneself drift. Definitely another experience, which should not be missed. Before we stopped at Lots Wife Place. You know, the wife of Lot, who became the pillar of salt when she looked back and disobeyed the angel of the Lord. The destroyed cities of Sodom and Gomorrah are right there. At about 9.00 pm we were back in the hotel.

10.13. Sea of Galilee – with circuit and various stops. Diana and I decided on a beach day because we were very tired. Bernd, Reto, Matthias and Paul with his daughters spent a nice day swimming in the lake.

14.10. Goodbye in front of the hotel. Many tears flowed because the time together was very intense and loving. Then flight back to Badenairpark. We all came back safe and blessed by the Lord. Hallelujah … with great gratitude we give you Mr. Yeshua the honor. It is a privilege to travel the holy land.

Spiritual … Diana had an accident about 2 weeks before departure … when cleaning she fell off the chair and contracted bruises and ribs. The topic of our trip was a healing tour … even on the Thursday before departure, she did not know if she could fly because of the severe pain and restrictions in the musculature system. She has overcome and  came along … on the first evening we prayed for healing under the laying on of hands. The Lord has done a miracle. She was almost painless within a few hours and was able to complete the tour. Our Lord – our Savior and Doctor … he is faithful.

There were a few other words that the Spirit of God has tried to work in our hearts … one was the sincerity of following Jesus … confessing Christ is something quite different from being a disciple … being a disciple – follower of Jesus willing to suffer for the truth and the gospel … not like Jesus on the cross of Golgotha, but to pay the price … that is very personal and everyone is allowed to decide that for themselves; another word came in the tabernacle … how many sacrifices are we willing to make? … our sacrifice of … time. Business is self-deception … because only in prayer do you receive … Gratitude is shown in many ways … nothing is self-evident and not people who do you good … how much appreciation we show …. through words and deeds … how much love we have in giving love … if we can not love our brother and sister, we can not love Jesus and the Father either .. because we do not see them … but those who see us encountering each other on our way of life we … some may get to know each other better … and then we can still love them even though they have problems and weaknesses … or are we just using them? Jesus left his life for you and me. It is very sad when we do not understand that and do not lose our lives for our siblings. Out there, millions of people are waiting for a loving Father and Redeemer … we have the power of heaven in us to pass this on. Yes, we will experience rejection, persecution, hatred and a lot of loneliness, yes we will not be compatible with many … but was that Jesus? The good news is, if we fail and repent, then he is faithful and just and forgives and cleanses us from our sins … when we confess them to HIM … how gracious …
